Derek leads our work at the Parenting Research Centre in translating research and evidence for use in a range contexts and settings.This includes the co-development of accessible and practicable resources for policymakers, professionals and parents.  

Leading a team in work spanning a range of projects, Derek’s primary focus is on the translation of research and best-practice evidence into the day-to-day practices of parents and those who support them.

Bridging the ‘know-do’ gap, Derek’s key activities include consultation, strategy development and the development of evidence-informed resources for a range of clients.

He also plays a key role in the development of the award-winning Raising Children Network website, and the national MyTime program that supports parents of children with disability.
