Providing consultation to practitioners and agencies is a key strategy in our work in disseminating and supporting evidence-based practice. We offer consultation services in research, evaluation and clinical support in the areas of parenting programs and intervention programs. This aspect of our work is provided on a 'fee for service' basis.
Research and evaluation
The Centre has a long-standing record of excellence in evaluating parenting programs of many different types, in many different settings. Our program evaluation framework can be applied to both theoretical and practical aspects of a service.
Some of our services include:
- evaluation services to agencies wishing to evaluate parenting programs and intiatives
- secondary and tertiary consultation to individuals and agencies wishing to establish routine evaluation processes or evaluate their own programs.
Practitioner support
We can provide secondary and tertiary consultation support to agencies or individual practitioners who require assistance to resolve practice issues in the delivery of parenting interventions.
Secondary consultations aim to assist individual practitioners to assess their client's needs, plan an intervention, and identify and overcome obstacles to achieving desired changes.
Tertiary consultations are provided for agencies wishing to resolve existing practice issues or learn about the most up-to-date evidence-based practice. In conducting tertiary consultations, consideration is given to the nature of the client group, the structure of the organisation and the clinical strategies being employed.
