Parenting Research Centre is pleased to announce that the Child+Family Disability Alliance (CaFDA) has been appointed as a new program delivery partner for national parent peer-support program MyTime.

Taking on responsibility for four new virtual MyTime groups, CaFDA  brings a wealth of virtual and online knowledge to the role, and will be well-positioned to offer new options to parents of children with a disability who may experience barriers to attending face-to-face peer support groups.

CaFDA is an alliance between Kiind (WA), Association for Children with a Disability (Vic) and Kindred (NSW), making it well-positioned to expand MyTime’s national reach.

In further exciting news, existing MyTime delivery partner Play Matters Australia will expand to include a new virtual group.

MyTime Programs Manager Jenny Boadle said welcoming CaFDA as a MyTime partner and introducing virtual groups marks a significant milestone in MyTime’s mission to offer diverse options for parents and carers of children with disabilities.

“MyTime is all about fostering connections and providing a nurturing environment where parents can share their experiences, gain confidence, and find solidarity in their journey,” Jenny said.

At its heart, MyTime is a welcoming, member-driven community that connects parents and carers of children with disabilities and complex health needs to share knowledge and experience. Our virtual groups are designed to ensure that every member, regardless of their circumstances, can access and benefit from the invaluable support that MyTime offers.”

MyTime is Australia’s only national support group for parents and carers of children with disabilities and complex health needs, and has more than 130 support groups located across the country.

All five new virtual groups will open in the coming months.

CaFDA joins existing partner agencies The Association for Children with Disability (Tas), Women’s and Children’s Health Network (SA), Down Syndrome Victoria, Down Syndrome Queensland, ngala (WA), playmatters (QLD) and Playgroup NSW in delivering the MyTime program.
